Joining us as Head of Apprenticeships, you will oversee the Group Apprenticeship delivery, acting as a central management point, monitoring all aspects of Apprenticeship performance. You will work closely with College delivery leads, Business Development and Management Information Services to ensure Group Apprenticeship quality standards and targets are met.
The Head of Apprenticeships must ensure Regional/National economic needs are met through effective programme design, Apprentice recruitment, high retention and timely achievement, whilst also gaining positive employer satisfaction and ensuring Funding Agency requirements are met. You will ensure the Group is ready to meet the changing needs of the employer landscape, as the Government works to increase Apprenticeship participation.

As our Head of Apprenticeships, we would like you to hold a relevant qualification at Level 4 or above (or have equivalent work-based qualifications) and have previous experience of successfully planning and delivering Apprenticeships across subject areas and at scale. Comfortable managing and delivering a sustainable budget, you will have worked across a large organisation, developing and delivering negotiated strategies and have experience of maintaining effective strategic relationships.With experience of significantly improving outcomes for Apprentices, you will have a thorough understanding of the requirements of an Apprenticeship programme and have knowledge of the needs of all Apprentices, including HNS, and be able to demonstrate delivery of a high quality student experience.
Experience as an Ofsted Inspector for Apprenticeship provision is desirable, as is a recognised Assessor qualification such as A1/A2, D32/33 or TAQA.
This position is predominantly based at Merton College but as it is a Group wide post, it will involve travel to other College sites.
