Children s Worker

Reaching adulthood brings all sorts of new experiences and life choices. Here at CrossReach’s GO2 service, we provide one to one support for young people as they look to develop new skills, grow in confidence and become more independent. Based in our Glasgow hub in Springburn, we have been providing care for children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs for almost 30 years.

The children and young people we support have faced more challenges than most. It’s our job to provide them with a therapeutic environment where our focus is on meeting their needs. Surrounding this child-focused approach are the ideas, nurture and commitment of our team, who work together to ensure that every child enjoys the best possible care and reaches their full potential.

As a Relief Children's Worker, you will be an essential part of our team. You will play a crucial role in providing care and support to children and young people during periods of staff absence or increased demand. Your flexibility and willingness to step in when needed will ensure the continuity of care and maintain a nurturing environment for the children and young people we serve.

While experience in working with children and young people, particularly those with learning disabilities, is beneficial, so too is a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children and young people. Your ability to adapt to various situations, work collaboratively with the team, and provide a safe and nurturing environment will be key in this role. Your exceptional communication skills and empathetic nature will enable you to establish positive relationships quickly and provide a sense of stability and support during transitional periods.

As you support a child’s future, we’ll look after yours, with ongoing training and support for achieving additional qualifications. You'll also receive a range of benefits, including company pension, health cash plan, paid holiday and access to a range of leisure and retail discounts.
We will provide you with the necessary support and training to excel in your responsibilities, ensuring that you are equipped to provide the highest quality care. Being part of our relief team offers unique opportunities for personal and professional growth. You will have the chance to work closely with a diverse team of professionals, gaining valuable experience, connections and broadening your skill set.
